  • This is the 19th instance of Sri Lanka's two batsmen were scores of hundred or more runs in their innings in One-day internationals and This is the second such instance of Sri Lanka's two batsman scores of hundred or more runs against New Zealand in ODIs. The only other such instance came against New Zealand at Sharjah in 2001.
  • Kusal Mendis' 143 was his highest score for Sri Lanka in One-day international and the highest-score by an Sri Lankan batsman against New Zealand in ODIs, surpassing the previous record of 140 held by Sanath Jayasuriya Bloemfontein in 1994.
  • Kusal Mendis' 143 was the second highest score by an Sri Lankan wicketkeeper in ODIs after Kumar Sangakkara's 169 against South Africa at Colombo (RPS) in 2013.

Sri Lanka scored massive total of 324-5 in 50 overs with top scorer by Kusal Mendis blasted a career-best 143 off 128-balls - which was his 4th ODI hundred and his first century against New Zealand in ODIs.

Avishka Fernando struck 100 off 115-balls - which was his 4th ODI hundred and his first century against New Zealand in ODIs - including 
9-fours & 2-sixes.

Charith Asalanka hammered a 40 off 28-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 142.85, Pathum Nissanka and Janith Liyanage each scored 12-runs.

New Zealand best bowler by Jacob Duffy picked up 3-wickets for 41-runs in 8.2-overs, Ish Sodhi and Michael Bracewell both took one-wickets.

New Zealand scored 175-9 in 27-overs - due to rain revised DLS target of 221 from 27-overs - with top scorer by Will Young cracked a 48 off 46-balla including 8-fours.

Debutant Tim Robinson - who hit 35 off 36-balls on his debut ODI match - including 4-fours, Michael Bracewell hit a unbeaten 34 off 32-balls included 5-fours and Debutant Mitchell Hay - who scored 10 off 9-balls on his debut ODI match - included a six.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Dilshan Madushanka picked up 3-wickets for 39-runs in 4-overs, Charith Asalanka, Maheesh Theekshana both took 2-wickets and one for Jeffrey Vandersay.

Kusal Mendis named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a career-best 143 off facing 128-balls including 17-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 111.71.
