Bowlers shines before A superb unbeaten 35 by Charith Asalanka helped to Sri Lanka convincing six-wicket victory over New Zealand, despite a Zakary Foulkes' all-round show and take a 1-0 lead in the first T20 international.

New Zealand scored 135 for all-out in 19.3 overs with top scorer by Zakary Foulkes blasted a unbeaten 27 off 16-balls including one-six & a four with strike rate of 168.75.

Michael Bracewell cracked a 27 off 24-balls including 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 112.50, Will Young hit a run-a-ball 19-runs contained one-six & a six and Mitchell Santner scored a run-a-ball 16-runs with two boundaries.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Dunith Wellalage picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 3.3-overs, Nuwan Thushara, Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana each took 2-wickets and one for Maheesh Theekshana.

Sri Lanka chased 140-6 in 19 overs with top scorer by Charith Asalanka cracked a unbeaten 35 off 28-balls, Kamindu Mendis blasted a 23 off 16-balls including 4-fours with strike rate of 143.75.

Kusal Perera 23 off 17-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 135.29, Wanindu Hasaranga scored 22 off 23-balls including three boundaries.

Pathum Nissanka cracked a 19 off 14-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 135.71 and Dunith Wellalage hit a unbeaten 11 off 7-balls contained one-six & a four with strike rate of 157.14.

New Zealand best bowler by Zakary Foulkes picked up 3-wickets for 20-runs in 3-overs, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner and Michael Bracewell each took one-wickets.

Charith Asalanka named Player of the match for his match-winning superb unbeaten 35 off facing 28-balls including 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 125.
