Day 1 : 
* Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney steady for 13.2 overs before rain ruins opening day of Gabba Test.

* Only 13.2 overs were possible on a rain-stopped first day in Brisbane Test, where India strove without taking a wicket after deciding to bowling first in the third Border-Gavaskar Test match.

* Overcast conditions and a grassy pitch prompted India to insert Australia after winning their third straight toss, and perhaps recent history informed their decision too, with the team bowling first having won six of the last seven Tests at The Gabba, Brisbane.


* Day 2 : Jasprit Bumrah's five-wicket haul but Travis Head and Steve Smith's centuries puts Australia on commanding position on the day two of the third Test match.

* Day 3 : Australia's pacers rattle India on rain stop-start day three of the third Test match.

* Day 4 : KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja's fifties and No.10 & No.11 batsmen Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah fightback as India avoid the follow-on in a rain-hit day four of the third Test match.

* Day 5 : Jasprit Bumrah's leads India fightback but Rain has the last word Test ends draw after Australia's sporting declaration in a rain-marred fifth & final day of the third Test.

* Indian great spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his immediate retirement from international cricket after missing selection at the Gabba, He played only one Test of the first three Tests of the ongoing series five-match series in Australia, taking 1 for 53 in the day-night game in Adelaide.

* Ashwin's has taken 537 Test wickets in 106 matches is the second leading wicket-taker for India after Anil Kumble's (619).



Australia 1st Innings scored 445 for all-out in 117.1 overs with top scorer by Travis Head hammered a 152 off 160-balls - which was his 9th Test hundred and his third century against India in Tests - including 18-fours with strike rate of 95.

Steve Smith struck 101 off 190-balls - which was his 33rd Test hundred and his tenth century against India in Tests - including 12-fours, Alex Carey blasted a 70 off 88-balls included 7-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 79.54.

Usman Khawaja cracked a 21 off 54-balls including three boundaries, Pat Cummins scored 20 off 33-balls included a boundary and Mitchell Starc hit 18 off 30-balls contained one-six & a four.

1st Innings India best bowler by Jasprit Bumrah claimed a 6-wicket haul for 76-runs in 28-overs including nine maidens, Mohammed Siraj took 2-wickets and one for Nitish Kumar Reddy - Akash Deep.

India 1st Innings scored 260 for all-out in 78.5 overs with top scorer by KL Rahul cracked a 84 off 139-balls including 8-fours.

Ravindra Jadeja hit 77 off 123-balls including 7-fours & a six, Akash Deep blasted a unbeaten 31 off 44-balls included 2-fours & a six with strike rate of 70.45.

Nitish Kumar Reddy cracked a 16 off 61-balls including a boundary, Rohit Sharma hit 10 off 27-balls contained 2-fours and Jasprit Bumrah scored a unbeaten 10 off 27-balls contained a six.

1st Innings Australia best bowler by Pat Cummins claimed a 4-wickets for 81-runs in 22-overs including two maidens.

Mitchell Starc picked up 3-wickets for picked up 3-wickets, Travis Head, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon each took one-wickets.

Australia 2nd Innings scored 89-7 for declared in 18 overs with top scorer by Pat Cummins hammered a 22 off 10-balls including 2-sixes & 2-fours with strike rate of 220.

Alex Carey cracked a unbeaten 19 off 20-balls including 2-fours, Travis Head hit 17 off 19-balls including 2-fours and Usman Khawaja 8.

India 2nd Innings scored 8 for without lost a wicket in 2.1-overs at when rain stopped the play - with top scorer by Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a unbeaten 4 off 6-balls and KL Rahul hit a unbeaten 4 off 7-balls.
