Bowlers shines before John Morris, Wayne Larkins' opening 72-run stand and Alec Stewart's unbeaten 29 steers to England convincing four-wicket victory over New Zealand in a low-scoring fourth match of a Benson and Hedges World Series Cup.


New Zealand bowled out for 158 in 49.2 overs with top scorer by Martin Crowe cracked a 37 off 67-balls including 2-fours.

Andrew Jones hit 26 off 36-balls including 4-fours, Mark Greatbatch scored 19 off 30-balls included a boundary and Ian Smith 15.

England best bowler by Chris Lewis picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 9.2-overs including a maiden with economy rate of 2.78, Gladstone Small, Martin Bicknell both took 2-wickets and one for Phil Tufnell.

England chased 161-6 in 43.5 overs with top scorer by Wayne Larkins cracked a 44 off 72-balls including nine boundaries.

John Morris struck 31 off 50-balls including five boundaries, Alec Stewart hit a unbeaten 29 off 43-balls and Allan Lamb scored 20 off 30-balls contained 2-fours.

Alec Stewart named Player of the match for his match-winning unbeaten 29 off 43-balls including 4-fours.
