Andrew Jones' half-century, Ian Smith's blazing half-century, Chris Harris's all-round display and Chris Cairns' career-best four-for gives New Zealand thrilling 7-run victory over England and clinch the three-match series with 2-1 in a see-saw game of the third ODI.


New Zealand scored 224-7 in 50 overs with top scorer by Andrew Jones cracked a 64 off 84-balls including 6-fours.

Ian Smith hammered a unbeaten 51 off 30-balls including 6-fours & a six with strike rate of 170, Chris Harris hit 39 off 44-balls and Richard Reid scored 26 off consuming 65-balls contained four boundaries.

England best bowler by Phil DeFreitas captured two-wickets, Angus Fraser, Graham Gooch and Phil Tufnell each took one-wickets.


England scored 217 for all-out in 49.5 overs with top scorer by Graham Gooch cracked a 47 off 74-balls including 6-fours.

Allan Lamb hit 42 off 53-balls including 4-fours & a six, Robin Smith struck 35 off 43-balls included two boundaries.

Mike Atherton scored 34 off consuming 63-balls including three boundaries, David Gower and Jack Russell each scored 13-runs.

New Zealand best bowler by Chris Cairns claimed a career-best 4-wickets for 55-runs in 10-overs, Chris Pringle picked up 3-wickets for 43-runs in 9.5-overs, Chris Harris took 2-wickets and one for Gavin Larsen.

Chris Harris named Player of the match for his all-round performance to took 2-wickets for 36-runs in 10-overs including a maiden after scoring a 39 off 44-balls included 2-fours & a six.
