Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis and Janith Liyanage fifties before Three-wicket hauls from Asitha Fernando, Maheesh Theekshana and Ehsan Malinga helped to Sri Lanka consolation win against New Zealand by a massive 140-runs, despite a Mark Chapman's fightback with 81 and avoid the series whitewash in a one-sided game of  the third & final ODI.

  • Sri Lanka's 140-run win was their second largest victory by terms of runs against New Zealand in ODIs after their 189-run win at same venue in 2007.
  • Sri Lanka's 290 was their fifth highest score against New Zealand in One-day international and It is their highest total at Auckland in ODIs, previous highest was 262 in 2007.
  • Matt Henry's 4 for 55 was his fifth best-bowling-figures against Sri Lanka in ODIs.
  • New Zealand's 150 was their fifth lowest score in a completed innings against Sri Lanka in One-day international and It is their tenth lowest total at Auckland in ODIs.

Sri Lanka scored 290-8 in 50 overs with top scorer by Pathum Nissanka blasted a 66 off 42-balls including 6-fours & 5-sixes with strike rate of 157.14.

Kusal Mendis cracked a 54 off 48-balls contained 5-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 112.50, Janith Liyanage hit 53 off 52-balls included 3-fours & 2-sixes.

Kamindu Mendis cracked a 46 off consuming 71-balls including 3-sixes & 2-fours, Chamidu Wickramasinghe scored 19 off consumed 31-balls with a six.

Avishka Fernando scored 17 off 33-balls including two boundaries and Wanindu Hasaranga hammered a 15 off 9-balls contained 2-sixes with strike rate of 166.66.

New Zealand best bowler by Matt Henry claimed a 4-wickets for 55-runs in 10-overs, Mitchell Santner took 2-wickets and one for Michael Bracewell - Nathan Smith.

New Zealand bowled out for 150 in 29.4 overs with top scorer by Mark Chapman cracked a run-a-ball 81-runs including 10-fours & a six.

Nathan Smith scored 17 off 29-balls including a six, Michael Bracewell 13 and Matt Henry 12.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Asitha Fernando picked up 3-wickets, Maheesh Theekshana captured three-wickets for 35-runs in 7-overs including a maiden, Eshan Malinga strikes 3-wickets for 35-runs in 7.4-overs and Janith Liyanage took one-wicket.

Asitha Fernando named Player of the match for his brilliant pace bowling attack to picked up 3-wickets for 26-runs in 7-overs.
