Kusal Mendis' brilliant century, Nishan Madushka and Charith Asalanka's fifties before Dunith Wellalage's four-for, Wanindu Hasaranga and Asitha Fernando's three-fors helped to Sri Lanka's record 174-run victory over world champions Australia and clinch the two-match series with 2-0 whitewash in a one-sided game of the second & final ODI.

Match Stats : 
  • Sri Lanka's 174-run win was their 16th largest victory by terms of runs in One-day international and It is their biggest win against Australia in ODIs, previous biggest win by 82-runs at same venue in 2016.
  • Sri Lanka's 281 was their tenth highest score against Australia in One-day international and It is their third highest total against Australia at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo in ODIs.
  • Australia's 107 was their joint eighth lowest score in a completed innings in One-day international and It is their second lowest total against Sri Lanka in ODIs after their 74 at Brisbane in 2013.

Sri Lanka scored 281-4 in 50 overs with top scorer by Kusal Mendis cracked a 101 off 115-balls - which was his 5th ODI hundred and his first century against Australia in ODIs.


Charith Asalanka hammered a unbeaten 78 off 66-balls including 6-fours & 3-sixes with strike rate of 118.18, Nishan Madushka struck 51 off 70-balls included 4-fours & a six and Janith blasted a unbeaten 32 off 21-balls contained 3-fours & 2-sixes with strike rate of 152.38.

Australia best bowler by Sean Abbott, Ben Dwarshuis, Adam Zampa and Aaron Hardie each took one-wickets.

Australia bundled out for 107 in 24.2 overs with top scorer by Steve Smith struck 29 off 34-balls including 3-fours & a six.

Josh Inglis hit 22 off 27-balls including 4-fours and Travis Head scored a run-a-ball 18-runs included 3-fours.

Sri Lanka best bowler by Dunith Wellalage claimed a 4-wickets for 35-runs in 7.2-overs, Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 3-wickets for 23-runs in 7-overs including two maidens and Asitha Fernando captured three-wickets for 23-runs in 4-overs.

Kusal Mendis named Player of the match for his brilliant batting performance to scored a 101-runs knocked off facing 115-balls including 11-fours.

Charith Asalanka earned player of the series for contributing 205 runs in the two-match series.
