Zahid Fazal's superb 98 and Saleem Malik's brilliant 87 before Pace bowler Aaqib Javed's record-breaking figures of 7 for 37 including a stunning hat-trick of illustrious lbw victims as Pakistan comfortable 72-run victory over India and clinch title in the final of a Wills Trophy.

  • Aaqib Javed's 7 for 37 was the best bowling figures in One-day international cricket history, surpassing the previous record of 7 for 51 held by Winston Davis against Australia at Leeds in the 1983 World Cup.
  • Aaqib Javed became the third Pakistan bowler to take a hat-trick in One-day international after Jalal-ud-Din and Wasim Akram and overall the sixth player in ODIs.

Pakistan scored 262-6 in 50 overs with top scorer by Zahid Fazal cracked a 98 off 119-balls - who fell two-run short of his century - including 8-fours & a six.

Saleem Malik struck 87 off 95-balls including 6-fours & a six and Ijaz Ahmed scored a unbeaten 16 off 13-balls included a boundary.

India best bowler by Kapil Dev picked up 3-wickets for 36-runs in 10-overs with economy rate of 3.60 and Manoj Prabhakar captured three-wickets.

India bowled out for 190 in 46 overs with top scorer by Sanjay Manjrekar struck 52 off 69-balls including 3-fours & 2-sixes.

Vinod Kambli cracked a 30 off 45-balls including two boundaries, Kiran More hit 26 off 35-balls contained 4-fours, Navjot Sidhu scored 21 off 32-balls contained 3-fours and Ravi Shastri 15.

Pakistan best bowler by Aaqib Javed 7-37 and Akram Raza took one-wicket for 56-runs in 9-overs.

Aaqib Javed named Player of the match for his sensational record-breaking bowling performance to claimed a career-best 7-wickets for 37-runs in 10-overs including a maiden.
