The 1979 Cricket World Cup (officially called the Prudential Cup '79) was the second Cricket World Cup. Organised by the International Cricket Conference (ICC), it took place in England between 9th June to 23rd June 1979.
The final was played at Lord's, London, where West Indies beat England by 92 runs to become the first team to win the two World Cups.
